Television actress Divyanka Tripathi takes to her social media to thank the government on clearing of the bill providing death penalty to sexual assaulters against children
Divyanka Tripathi of the Star Plus show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is one of the most loved faces on Indian television. The actress is known for her character of ‘Ishi Maa’ has won many hearts. Divyanka who is quite active on social media despite her hectic shooting schedule, took to her Twitter to thank the Indian government on the recent clearing of the bill providing death penalty on sexual assault against children.
Ishi Maa of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein seems to be updated about the happenings around. The actress loves children and has portrayed it from the role she plays on-screen. Divyanka took to her Twitter to share a tweet congratulating and thanking the government. The actresses’ tweet read, “My salute to the government for this move! We were waiting for this day for years!” As Divyanka thanked the government, the bill that the actress has mentioned about has been passed and approved on Aug 1, 2019, by the Lok Sabha seeking to provide Death Penalty for aggravated sexual assault on children and greater punishments for other crimes against minors. The bill that was already approved by the Rajya Sabha earlier according to Minister Smriti Irani (Ministry of Women and Child Development) aims at making offences against children gender-neutral.
